UPDATE: The Hill, Lighthouse, Young Awards (and Rising Star) Committees were seeking nominations for the 2020 awards event. Due to the pandemic, these awards and its special program will be postponed to Q4 of this year.
PRSA Greater Cleveland recognizes excellence in public relations through several awards programs held each year. Award winners demonstrate leadership in the public relations field and contribute to advancing the profession in Northeast Ohio. PRSA Greater Cleveland recognizes local excellence in the public relations field through the following annual awards:
HILL, LIGHTHOUSE, YOUNG AWARDS
The Hill, Lighthouse, Young Awards Committee is currently seeking nominations for the 2020 awards event.
The three award categories are:
JOHN HILL AWARD
Recognizing a Cleveland-area Chief Executive for outstanding understanding of and support for communications. Nomination form can be accessed here.
Recognizing the career accomplishments and community service of a public relations professional, who is a PRSA member. Nomination form can be accessed here.
DAVIS YOUNG AWARD
Recognizing a professional who excels in mentoring students and young professionals through hands-on instruction and support. Nomination form can be accessed here.
Nominations for the 2020 Awards are due to the committee, via Committee Chair Lorraine Schuchart, APR. Instructions are included on each award’s nomination form.
RISING STAR AWARD
The Rising Star Award is awarded to a young professional with 7 or fewer years of experience who has shown great commitment to the profession and community. The nominee must be a current PRSA member. Nomination form can be accessed here.

THE CLEVELAND ROCKS AWARDS
Cleveland Rocks Awards, acknowledging outstanding public relations programs incorporating sound research, planning, execution and evaluation. More information on this event is available here.
PAST HILL, LIGHTHOUSE , YOUNG AWARDS
The John W. Hill Award
Is presented each year to the chief executive of a Greater Cleveland area organization who provides outstanding leadership and support for internal and external communications.

The Lighthouse Award
Is presented each year to recognize the career accomplishments and community service of a senior public relations professional who is a member of Greater Cleveland PRSA.
- 2019 Recipient: Janice S Gusich, APR, Founder, Senior Strategist, akhia communications
The Davis Young Award for Exceptional Mentors
Is presented each year to recognize a professional who excels in mentoring students and young professionals through hands-on instruction and support.
