Job Description:
SUMMARY
Collaborates with department communications managers and creative and interactive team members to create and maintain an appropriate framework that facilitates effective communication through interactive communications channels. Monitors the effectiveness of those communications channels and serves as a resource within the department and across the College for interactive communications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Works with departments across the College to enhance, edit and reformat existing and newly created web and electronic newsletter content, including working on hosted solution projects

Monitors workflow procedures in the content management systems

Grants access to K-web (intranet) sites

Assists with content management system training, creating content management documentation and ongoing customer service to content authors

Advises content owners on web content placement, web templates and search engine optimization strategy

Creates periodic performance reports used in ongoing site traffic analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of the SEO strategy

Assists with organizing content with internal communications channels

Supports strategic social media efforts, analysis and posting schedule

Participates in coverage of College-wide events with social media, photography and video

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field
Significant related experience may substitute for education
Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience developing interactive content
Demonstrated experience in content management systems
Demonstrated experience launching social media marketing campaigns
Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Ability to work special evening and weekend events as needed
Possess working knowledge of interactive communications concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
Demonstrated understanding of keyword analysis, competitive site analysis,  search engine optimization, social media optimization and web analytic reporting
Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Possess excellent proofreading and editing skills
Ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively
Ability to research and analyze issues and develop solutions
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment

Demonstrated basic project management skills

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type.  However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;

Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
