Digital Content Creator – Baldwin Wallace University

Job Summary: The Digital Content Coordinator is a member of the University Relations Office at Baldwin Wallace University. The candidate must possess excellent writing skills in a variety of different styles/tones. The candidate must be able to engage our audiences ranging from prospective students to alumni and donors. The Digital Content Coordinator will work primarily on the University’s external website (bw.edu) but will also contribute content to BW’s other digital channels and main social media accounts.

Essential duties, tasks and responsibilities:
– Advocates for and is focused on the user experience, writing copy and creating webpages that are user friendly
– Writes original copy and edits existing or client-submitted copy
– Creates new and updates existing visual elements
– Publishes web content using SEO best practices
– Coordinates projects with internal clients, establishing and managing expectations
– Sets and maintains schedules for content on bw.edu
– Works closely with Web Team members to create visually-appealing, user-centric webpages
– Participates in project planning meetings and client meetings
– Contributes content for BW’s main social media accounts
– Supports other departmental and University initiatives as assigned

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital marketing, English, journalism, marketing, public relations, or related major
– Effective communicator whose writing style can adapt to different platforms
– Demonstrated skills for writing for websites
– Editing, proof reading and researching skills
– Good understanding of SEO principles and previous experience implementing SEO best practices
– Basic HTML skills and previous experience working in a web content management system (CMS)
– Experience using Adobe PhotoShop and/or Canva, creating visual elements for websites such as buttons and infographics and optimizing photos for the web
– Desire to work in a team but confidence to handle solo projects

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Limited physical effort required. No or limited exposure to physical risk. Must successfully pass a background check and complete University compliance training.
