PRSA Cleveland has introduced a scholarship stipend program to assist prospective members with their PRSA National Membership dues. The scholarship is available to public relations / communications / marketing professionals working for a non-profit organization in the Greater Cleveland area.
The impetus of this scholarship program is to encourage prospective members to gain benefits from being associated with PRSA through assistance with the cost of membership through this stipend award.
To be considered for the scholarship:
- Applicant must be a PR professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience currently working for a non-profit organization in a PR/marketing/communications capacity.
- Applicant agrees to participate on at least one committee/initiative of the chapter.
Applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee of PRSA Cleveland. Recommendations for approval are submitted to the PRSA Cleveland Board of Directors. Up to four scholarship stipends will be awarded in 2019. Applications will be reviewed twice a year with the deadlines as follows: March 8, 2019 – first award cycle, and September 13, 2019 – second award cycle.
The scholarship stipend award is based on need and the applicant submission. It will cover the national membership cost [currently at $260] for the participating year. Any additional fees are to be paid by the applicant, including the initiation/reinstatement fee ($35 – 65) and the local chapter fee ($70). Participation in the local chapter is required for consideration.
